Mini of the Week 2-5-21

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every week I find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

What an awesome conversion! Not only is this a huge improvement on the Space Marines Scouts in general, but it's super characterful as a, well, character too. I can spot Genestealer Cults, Necromunda Goliath, and of course Space Marine parts in there, and I'm sure there are some I'm missing. This really gives the Scouts a lot more heft and menace. It also helps them fit in alongside the newer Primaris Marines a lot more. The combination of so many different parts on this one model has been done pretty much seamlessly. If I didn't know this was a conversion and recognized some of the parts I could easily think this was an official miniature. He definitely has the feeling of a grizzled gunfighter ready to impart some knowledge on the young whippersnappers just finding their way within the Chapter.

The paint job on this is great as well. Everything is very smooth and crisp and it sticks pretty close to the 'Eavy Metal style which I'm a fan of. I like how bright the colors are on it. I also like how the cloth feels much softer than the armor, which has much starker transitions between light and dark. The fact that this is part of a gaming army and collection as well just makes it even more awesome. Imagine seeing a whole squad of Scouts converted and painted like this.
