Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.
Captain Severus Agemman by Steve Garcia on Putty & Paint |
There's something about Space Marine Terminators that are just so cool to me. I'm pretty sure this is the standard Limited Edition Terminator Captain with a head swap, but it doesn't really need any other changes. The overall color scheme on this guy is fairly light, with an almost pastel look to it. The non-metallic metal on the armor is very well done, and the light weathering on it really adds to the look. It's just light scratches so it doesn't overwhelm the rest of the model. Everything is very smooth and crisp as well.
I really like the freehand on the model on his shoulder and shield. It's not over the top like some freehand can be, but fits the model very well. The splashes of purple on the model are a nice touch as well, adding a regal feel to the Captain. The green glow on the face is very well done too and really helps draw your eye to the face. It's a little washed out, but still looks good. Even though the base is very simple I actually really like it. It doesn't distract from the model, and looks very realistic in my opinion. I like that we have some flat concrete and red bricks. It feels much more like a real setting then some of the super large piles of rubble do.
Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.
Until next time,
Tyler M.
