Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.
Commander Shadowsun by lovall on CMoN |
This is a very cool style of painting. It's almost like cell shading and is very fitting for the Tau in my opinion. It has a very "animation" feel to it which fits the anime inspired Tau perfectly. All of the colors are very crisp and clean. The gradients on them are some of the smoothers I've seen. I really like the crisp and bright edge highlights framing in all of the gradients. You get a nice feeling of different textures too. Her skin feels much softer and more organic when compared to the hard armor that makes up the rest of the model. There's no conversion or anything, but it's a super crisp model and looks amazing.
Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more angles and show the artist some love if you like it.
Until next time,
Tyler M.
