Unique marine color schemes are always cool, especially with Chaos Marines, since you have so much more scope for stuff that may look odd on a loyalist. The green flames on the black armor look great and evoke a classic heavy metal vibe which is always fun on Chaos. They remind me of something from second edition or maybe early third, but with a much more refined look. All of the painting is very crisp and smooth, and the choice of green really pops. It's a very emerald green. The orange glow of the weapons is a great spot color and complements the black and green well, with the much more subtle red tying it all together.
This really looks like it could be the cover of a heavy metal album, maybe something off the old Warhammer Records. The only thing that falls a little short for me is the basing. It's simple, and frames the models well, but I don't really know what's going on with it. I believe it's just supposed to be rubble, but I think it needs a little more shape to it. It just kind of looks like grey rock at the moment. The models more than make up for it though.
Until next time,
Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more angles and show the artist some love if you like it.
Until next time,
