Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.
Wow, what a conversion! I'm not even going to begin to guess at what models make up this guy. He really captures the baroque nature of the Emperor's Children. This pretty much looks like a John Blanche drawing as a model. Everything about it speaks to nobility and over confidence. The paint job on this is fantastic as well. While it's not the traditional purple armor of the Emperor's Children, there is still a hint of purple with the cloak. The bare metal and gold armor gives this a much darker and more gothic look. The expressionless white mask is a fantastic touch as well. It's so creepy looking, and yet again, fits into the theme of the baroque look. I like how you get a hint about his face being disfigured beneath it as well. While this is definitely not a traditional take on Fulgrim's sons, I think it is definitely a very, very effective and evocative one.
