Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Visarch by Magobaku on Putty and Paint |
The Visarch is just such a cool model as is, and this paint job only enhances that. I really love the colors that were chosen, with that shade of red being particularly cool. It's a really nice, dark and somber red, almost drab in a way. It gives the whole model a really sinister vibe, especially when combined with the black cloth and helmet. The model overall is fairly dark, which really makes the spot colors pop. The non-metallic gold works great, and stands out just enough without over powering anything, especially on the freehand. My favorite part though is the blue used on the eyes, sword, and base. I really love that they tied the blue into the base with the water pool. It's such a cool little addition and really gives the base a point of interest without being distracting. The glow on the eyes is nicely done as well, but the sword really stands out to me. Everything on this mini is smooth and crisp, with some amazing reflections painted on considering all of the detail sculpted onto the armor. It's just a really great rendition of this foreboding Eldar mini.
Be sure to check out more views of the model on
Putty and Paint and show the artist some love if you like it.
Until next time,
Tyler M.
