Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.
The Tribute by Michal Pisarski |
The painting on this is byond reproach, with all of the colors having a very subdued and sombre feel to them. Besides the green on Nagash's crown and the crimson of the cloak, there's not much else going on color wise, really making the colors that are there pop. Everything is super crisp and smooth, and the non-metallic metals on Nagash and the vampire are top notch. He even has subtle hints of colors reflecting in the metals. I'm happy that he kept the steps to Nagash's throne sandstone in appearance so that there's a little nod back to his Nehekharen roots. Really, everything about this model is perfect, and it definitely deserved the second place trophy it got at Crystal Brush. To be honest, I'm surprised it didn't take the gold. All bow before Nagash.
Be sure to check out more views of the model on Cool Mini or Not and show the artist some love if you like it.
